Each year, several of our Gold Sponsors come to Melbourne University to give a short presentation about their firm and opportunities for university students at their firms. At the end of these presentations, students are always welcome to network with the representatives from the firms over light refreshments. In 2016, our Gold Sponsors will have the opportunity to hold professional development workshops which seek to provide a more practical learning experience for students.
The Actuaries Institute is the sole professional body for actuaries in Australia and is responsible for setting actuarial accreditation standards within Australia. Each year their presentation sheds light on the steps required to become either an Associate or a Fellow of the Actuaries Institute. Advice is also provided on how you can resit tests for subjects you may not have obtained exemptions for, and the benefits of becoming a member of the Actuaries Institute. There are plenty of chances to ask questions throughout the presentation and to talk one-on-one with the representative from the Institute after the presentation.
